I’m Kait. Founder & florist behind French Girl Florals - my petite floral atelier in sunny San Diego, California.

My story with flowers begins with my Grandmother.

I was born in a suburb of Paris and growing up my family would vacation in Antibes, France during the Summer. When my sister and I were young, our Grandmother, Genevieve or “Mamie Genevieve” would have us help around the house by creating flower arrangements for the table.

She believed flowers had the power to create an invitation to linger over dinner and enjoy one another. She would wake us up early, have us collect flowers from the garden and then we would help her create a beautiful arrangement for meals on the terrace. Those summer villa chores were my earliest interactions with floral design and now, some of my most treasured memories of my Mamie Genevieve. She was a true “Bon Vivant” and knew what it meant to enjoy the pleasures of life.

Although my aesthetic has morphed, I still hold onto those garden roots from my childhood.

Today, I proudly run my studio outside of my home with the same loving intention behind floral design as my Mamie Genevieve. I handcraft every bespoke bouquet with her" “joie de vivre” spirit and eye for design guiding me. Every exquisite flower we source and each unique arrangement we design, is an homage to her class, timeless style and appreciation for life’s special moments, big and small.
